Grete Løchen, the Ambassador of Norway to Vietnam, was present at a mobile exhibition, “The safe journey”, on Wednesday, 6 March 2019 in Hanoi, Vietnam.
The exhibition was marking International Women’s Day 2019. The objectives are to build the awareness of providing the safety for women and children and to encourage all participants “to join hands to ensure safety for all women and girls so they can bring into full play their confidence, vigor and potential.” said Eliza Fernandez, UN Women Chief Representative in Vietnam.
The Ambassador said that to participate in this exhibition with Nguyễn Xuân Phúc, Vietnam’s Prime Minister, and female leaders from the international and Vietnamese agencies was her great pleasure.
“I was happy to present the Norwegian new action plan on Women, Peace and Security to the Prime Minister”, said Norway’s Ambassador Grete Løchen.
She suggested that “women and children need safety wherever they are” and that the women should gain more seats at the negotiation table and take more roles in major operations such as peace processes.

“The safe journey” is a mobile exhibition organized by the UN Women in Vietnam, the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU), and the Vietnamese Women’s Museum and it is running from March 6 until March 31, 2019.
The mobile exhibition has several kinds of activities waiting for the guests to participate and is now being sent to public areas such as Hoan Kiem Lake, parks, schools, and the headquarters of women’s unions.
