Norway’s new Ambassador Designate to Thailand, Frode Solberg, has arrived in Bangkok to begin his new diplomatic posting.
Solberg previously served as Norway’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea. In a message introducing himself, he said he was pleased to return to Asia and looked forward to learning more about Thailand and Southeast Asia.
He highlighted the longstanding relations between Norway and Thailand and said he hopes to strengthen cooperation with partners in Thailand while engaging with the Norwegian community in the country.
Solberg also said he looks forward to building new connections across the region during his posting.
His appointment comes as Norway and Thailand continue cooperation in areas including trade, business, maritime affairs and sustainable development.
