The Norwegian Church in Pattaya is currently hosting a confirmation camp for Norwegian youth from Thailand, Singapore, Australia, and Japan. The event brings together young confirmands for a week of learning, discussions, and activities centered around the theme of human dignity—in relation to oneself, others, and faith in a world of contrasts.
Leading the camp are Hilde Sirnes, the traveling Seamen’s Church pastor for Asia, Sjur Askjer, the pastor in Singapore, and Håvard Osland, deacon for Australia and New Zealand. The local church team in Pattaya, including Helle Maria, Bjørn Inge, and Jeanine, is hosting the event and contributing to its program.
Throughout the week, confirmands will engage in excursions, discussions, and community-building activities, culminating in their participation in the Sunday service on February 9 at 11:00 AM at the Norwegian Church in Pattaya. The service will feature a simplified liturgy, a prayer walk with communion, and contributions from the confirmands. Music will be provided by Øystein, Bjørn Inge, Jeanine, and others.
After the service, attendees are invited to church coffee and fellowship. Visitors to the church may see confirmands coming and going during the week and are encouraged to give them a warm welcome.
The Norwegian Church in Pattaya is open Wednesday to Sunday from 12:00 to 16:00, offering a space for the Scandinavian community to gather, worship, and engage in meaningful discussions.
