Finnish volleyball player Suvi Kokkonen has joined Vietinbank’s women’s volleyball team ahead of the 2026 national championship in Vietnam, Laodong reports.
The 1.82m outside hitter is expected to arrive in Vietnam today, March 23 and will begin training with the team ahead of the tournament, which starts in early April in Hanoi.
Only foreign player
Kokkonen is the only foreign player recruited by Vietinbank for the first round of the competition and is seen as a key addition to strengthen the squad.
Vietinbank has chosen to sign only one foreign player for the upcoming tournament. To strengthen the squad further, the team has also brought in two domestic players on loan, who have already shown strong form at the Hoa Lu Cup 2026 in Ninh Binh.
