Pensak Chagsuchinda Howitz awarded Best International Woman of Thailand 2019

Dr. Pensak Chagsuchinda Howitz, the Danish-Thai archaeologist, ambassador’s wife and Thai senator, was awarded Best International Woman of Thailand on International Women’s Day, Friday, 8 March 2019.

Dr. Pensak was given the prestigious award for establishing her charity organization, Raindrop Foundation and was the first recipient to receive the award.

The awards were handed by General Chatchai Sarikulya, Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister to 6 organizations and 39 outstanding women who came from all walks of life and professions.

The event was held at IMPACT Forum Building, Nonthaburi by Ministry of Social Development and Human Security to acknowledge and celebrate achievements of women and organizations that have been contributing improvements for women’s status, equality and justice in Thailand

At the ceremony, Dr. Pensak sat next to Benjarat Deeruang, the youngest award recipients (22 years old) who was presented as the Best Young Woman of Central Thailand for her remarkable lecture about her experience in education and the way to earn extra money to lighten her parents’ burden.

Dr. Pensak expressed her pleasure that she felt very honor to be presented as the best International Woman of Thailand for the International Women year 2019 and that this award also is a great honor for Raindrop Foundation.
