The Philippines and Norway reviewed bilateral ties at the 7th Philippines–Norway Political Consultations hosted by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on 24 October 2025 at the DFA Building in Pasay City. The talks were led by Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary for European Affairs Deena Joy Amatong and Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director General for Regional Affairs Signe Brudeset, with Ambassador Enrico T. Fos co-heading the Philippine side.
Both delegations discussed maritime cooperation, trade and investment promotion, renewable energy and the blue economy, peace and development, defense, social security cooperation, a bilateral labor agreement and migration management, and people-to-people partnerships. They also noted plans to conclude several bilateral cooperation agreements in the near future.
Norway held similar negotiations talks with Indonesia between 22–23 October 2025.
The political consultations, first held in January 2014, serve as a mechanism for Manila and Oslo to assess ongoing collaboration and explore new areas of cooperation, while exchanging views on regional and global issues.
Norway is expected to host the next round of consultations in 2027.
