The Danish royal couple welcomed ambassadors and diplomats from around the world to a New Year’s reception at Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen.
Among the attendees were ambassadors from Vietnam, Norway, Iceland, Finland,China and the Philippines, marking an important occasion for the diplomatic community in Denmark. There were also attendees from Niger, the US, Ukraine, Kenya and Canada.
This was the first reception of its kind since the accession of King Frederik, who hosted alongside Queen Mary, continuing the royal tradition of celebrating the New Year with Denmark’s diplomatic corps.
