SAS and Vietnam Airlines expand codeshare agreement for 2026

SAS and Vietnam Airlines are expanding their partnership through a broader codeshare agreement that will link Copenhagen and Ho Chi Minh City with new onward connections across both Scandinavia and Vietnam.

The announcement follows Vietnam Airlines’ upcoming inaugural Copenhagen–Ho Chi Minh City flight on 15 December 2025, marking the start of direct air connectivity between Denmark and Vietnam. The two airlines first established their cooperation in 2024.

“This expansion marks an important milestone in our partnership,” says Paul Verhagen, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at SAS. “With direct connectivity and a wider range of onward destinations, we’re giving customers more choice, flexibility and convenience than ever before.”

Under the extended codeshare, SAS passengers will be able to book Vietnam Airlines’ direct Copenhagen–Ho Chi Minh City service under an SAS flight number. They will also have access to onward routes to Hanoi, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Da Lat and Hue.

Vietnam Airlines will place its code on SAS-operated domestic flights within Denmark to Aarhus, Aalborg and Billund. The carrier will also codeshare on a range of Scandinavian routes serving Stockholm, Oslo, Gothenburg, Bergen, Stavanger, Trondheim and Helsinki.

SAS states that the agreement supports its ambition to strengthen Copenhagen Airport as its primary hub and a key gateway between Asia, Europe and North America. Improved regional connectivity through CPH is expected to benefit travellers arriving from the United States and across Europe.

Passengers travelling within the expanded codeshare network will earn and redeem rewards through SAS EuroBonus and Vietnam Airlines’ LotusMiles programmes.
