Shanghai Denmark Water Days

Danish Water Technology Group has just completed a survey for the Danish Nature Agency, which concluded that Danish companies are interested in more activities to get business at the Chinese market.

As a result an extensive program has been planned with both matchmaking opportunities, knowledge exchange about the Chinese market and participation in the IE Expo Exhibition.

IE Expo Shanghai is the leading exhibition in China for water, sewage, refuse, recycling,   air pollution and energy conservation. In 2012 there were 753 exhibitors from 25 countries with more than 24,000 visitors from 53 countries. At the expo, the Danish Water Technology Group organizes a Danish Pavilion with focus on water management, waste and bio energy.

For quite a while, Danish Water Technology Group has been working on setting up promotion for members to China. Danish Water Technology Group is part of Danish Export Association, which is the biggest organizer of export networks and promotions. Danish Water Technology Group helps profile companies abroad with various events and networking and consists of more than 50 companies.

Demand for Danish know-how

China is with 21% of the global population one of the fastest growing economies in Asia. However, China only has 6% of global renewable water resources and the country faces numerous challenges. Out of the 663 cities in China, more than 400 are suffering from water shortages, with 110 classified as ‘severe’.

Water is therefore high on the political agenda of China’s government, and planned major investments in the coming years. China’s challenges shows that there is a huge business potential in both water and waste water in China, and the demand for water and wastewater technologies will remain high for many years to come.

The programme consists of:
– Preparation meeting in Denmark (legal information, exchange of experiences, profile building)
–  Workshop and B2B meetings at Jiangsu (Yixing) Institute of Environmental Industry
–  Seminar and B2B meetings in Shanghai together with Innovation Centre of Trade Council
–  Site visit to WWTP/Drinking water plant in Shanghai
–  Dinner together with locally established companies
– Danish Pavilion at IE Expo Shanghai, brochure stand or full stand

You can register at IE EXPO SHANGHAI 2013 or contact Ilse Korsvang, +45 5089 4488, ilse.korsvang@dk-export.dk.
