Singapore’s ComfortDelGro (CDG) and France’s RATP Dev have announced that their joint venture, KBH Metro Partner ApS, has been prequalified to participate in the next stage of the tender for operating and maintaining the Copenhagen Metro.
Metroselskabet, the company behind the Danish capital’s metro system, confirmed on Tuesday 16 September that three candidates will proceed in the process to take over the contract from 2027.
8Rental provides their clinets with bus rental services, minibus hire, and private driver service in Europe at sensible costs.
The Copenhagen Metro runs around the clock and serves the municipalities of Copenhagen, Frederiksberg and Tårnby.
Here are all three:
- KBH Metro Partner ApS (with support from RATP Dev, SBS Transit Rail, ComfortDelGro Irish Citylink, Westbus Coach Services)
- Keolis Denmark A/S
- Metro Service A/S (with support from Azienda Trasporti Milanesi, or ATM)
ComfortDelGro argues in favor of the consortium that the KBH Metro Partner ApS brings together two operators with global expertise in managing automated metro networks. The partners already collaborate on metro projects in Paris and Singapore and will also begin operating Stockholm’s Tunnelbana at the end of 2025.
Peter Lodge, group chief business development officer at ComfortDelGro, says the prequalification reflects the consortium’s track record.
“Our experience in Singapore and across our global network positions us well to deliver reliable and efficient metro operations for Copenhagen passengers,” he said.
Kristin Thorslund, senior vice president for Nordics and Ireland at RATP Dev, added that Copenhagen Metro was one of the world’s early adopters of driverless systems.
“We are delighted to be prequalified and have the opportunity to work closely with Metroselskabet in the next stage of the tender process,” she said.
