Swedish Ambassador meet with Vietnamese Prime Minister

Sweden’s Ambassador to Vietnam, Johan Ndisi, and a delegation from SYRE met Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính on 6 February. The Swedish Embassy in Hanoi said the talks focused on circular textiles.

The embassy said SYRE, which is part of the H&M Group, is exploring investment opportunities in high-tech recycling facilities. The aim is to turn used textiles into new textile products.

According to the post, the discussion linked the plans to Vietnam’s green growth goals. It also highlighted potential opportunities for local companies and workers.

The embassy said Sweden and Vietnam discussed cooperation on clean and efficient technologies, green job creation, and scaling textile-to-textile recycling.
