The Embassy of Sweden in Hanoi hosted a regional promotion meeting on Tuesday 2 and Wednesday 3 April 2025, bringing together 50 Swedish diplomats and colleagues from Stockholm and across the Asia-Pacific region.
According to the Swedish Ambassador to Vietnam, Johan Ndisi, participants joined from Tokyo, Jakarta, Singapore, Seoul, Delhi, Canberra and beyond to exchange ideas, strengthen cooperation, and lay the groundwork for future initiatives under the regional theme Focus Asia.
The event highlighted Sweden’s growing engagement across Asia through a combination of diplomacy, sustainability, and innovation. Participants also had the opportunity to explore Vietnamese culture and sustainable business in action. The group visited Thanh Chuong’s Viet Palace, a private museum and cultural heritage site outside Hanoi, as well as Woodsland, a local supplier of sustainably produced outdoor furniture for IKEA.
“The energy, ideas, and connections we made were truly inspiring,” says Ambassador Ndisi.
The event concluded with renewed commitment to regional collaboration through Team Sweden, a joint initiative involving Swedish embassies, government agencies, and business partners working together globally to promote Sweden’s interests.
