Swedish luxury fashion brand Acne Studios has officially entered the Malaysian market with the opening of its first standalone store at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, marking another step in the company’s expansion across Southeast Asia.
The new boutique is operated in partnership with Club 21, the regional luxury retailer that also manages Acne Studios’ operations in Singapore and Taiwan. The opening brings one of Sweden’s best-known contemporary fashion brands to Malaysia for the first time.
Founded in Stockholm in 1996, Acne Studios has grown from a creative collective into an internationally recognised fashion house known for its minimalist Scandinavian design, premium denim and ready-to-wear collections. Today, the brand operates stores in major cities including Stockholm, Copenhagen, Paris, London, New York, Tokyo and Seoul.
The Kuala Lumpur boutique offers the brand’s latest collections for men and women, including clothing, footwear, leather goods and accessories, reflecting the same design concept found in Acne Studios’ flagship stores around the world.
The Malaysian launch comes as international luxury brands continue to expand in Southeast Asia, attracted by rising consumer spending and growing demand for premium fashion. Pavilion Kuala Lumpur has become one of the region’s leading luxury retail destinations, hosting many of the world’s best-known designer brands.
For Swedish businesses, the opening underlines the increasing appeal of Southeast Asia as a growth market for premium consumer brands. While Swedish companies have long been well represented in sectors such as furniture, telecommunications and automotive manufacturing, fashion brands are also steadily increasing their presence across the region.
Acne Studios remains independently headquartered in Stockholm and is regarded as one of Sweden’s most influential fashion labels, with a reputation for combining Scandinavian simplicity with innovative materials, tailoring and contemporary art-inspired design.
