Swedish and Indonesian companies will continue holding sector-specific meetings in Jakarta despite the cancellation of the main Sweden-Indonesia Sustainability Partnership Business Forum.

The Swedish Embassy in Jakarta and Business Sweden adjusted the programme after Crown Princess Victoria and Swedish State Secretary Diana Janse were unable to travel to Jakarta as planned.

Several meetings involving Swedish and Indonesian companies, institutions and other stakeholders will still take place. The discussions cover priority sectors including technology, healthcare and digital transformation.

The embassy and Business Sweden said the changes would not affect the wider partnership between Sweden and Indonesia.

Crown Princess Victoria had been scheduled to open the business forum on 8 September. However, she cancelled her remaining programme in Jakarta following flight disruption caused by volcanic ash from Anak Krakatau.

Her cancellation initially appeared to affect only the royal programme. The later statement clarified that organisers had also cancelled the main business forum and replaced parts of it with smaller sector-focused sessions.
