Swedish man and Thai woman arrested for cocaine dealing in Phuket

A 41-year-old Swedish man and a 32-year-old Thai woman were arrested in Phuket on Saturday 6 July 2025 for allegedly dealing cocaine, according to a statement from Patong Police and reports by local media.

The two suspects were apprehended in front of a 7-Eleven store on Ratchapatanusorn Road in Patong, and later their condominium in Rawai was searched. The arrests were carried out by the Patong Police investigation team under the direction of Pol. Col. Chalermchai Hoernsawat, Superintendent of Patong Police.

Police confiscated 15.37 grams of cocaine, 80 small zip-lock bags used for packaging narcotics, 1 digital scale and 2 iPhones. They also confiscated the couple’s yellow MG5 car.

According to the police statement, the pair were charged with “jointly possessing and selling a Category 2 narcotic (cocaine) with intent to distribute without permission.”

The suspects and the seized items were handed over to investigators at Patong Police Station for further legal proceedings.

So far, no information has been made public about the identity of the Swedish suspect, and the Swedish authorities have not commented on the case.
