Norwegian low-cost carrier Norse Atlantic Airways will launch a new weekly non-stop service between Manchester and Bangkok starting Wednesday 26 November 2025.
The route, operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, will be the first direct air link between the northern UK city and the Thai capital. Flight ZO891 will depart Manchester at 23:30 and arrive in Bangkok at 18:00 the following day. The return flight, ZO892, will leave Bangkok at 20:00 and land in Manchester at 02:15 on Friday.
The aircraft will offer 338 seats — 56 in premium economy and 282 in economy — with return fares starting from £259 – 11,500 Thai Baht – , including all taxes.
The new route is expected to significantly benefit the more than 100,000 annual travelers flying indirectly between the two cities, as well as another 100,000 who connect via other UK airports. Norse Atlantic aims to meet this under-served demand with its direct offering.
“This route has been waiting to happen, and we’re proud to be the ones making it a reality,” says Bjørn Tore Larsen, CEO of Norse Atlantic Airways.
“Manchester is a key gateway to the North of England, and Bangkok is a magnet for adventure, business, and culture.”
Chris Woodroofe, Managing Director of Manchester Airport, welcomes the development.
“Many people from the region travel there every year but until now they have had to book connecting flights. This new route will make a huge difference” he says.
The new Manchester–Bangkok route complements Norse Atlantic’s upcoming services from London Gatwick and Stockholm to Bangkok, reinforcing the airline’s growing presence in the Thailand market.
