Swedish Senior Statistician received award from Cambodia

Veronica Wikner, a Swedish Statistics Senior Advisor from National Institute of Statistics of Cambodia (NIS) was recently given an honored award by the Government of Cambodia for her contributions to the NIS over the past three years.

The award ceremony took place in the afternoon of July 5 where Chhay Than, Senior Minister and Minister of Planning was presided over the ceremony and handed the award to Veronica Wikner, a senior adviser to the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida) at the National Institute of Statistics.

According to Embassy of Sweden in Phnom Penh, with financial support from Sida, Veronica has worked closely with the NIS to provide the officials of NIS and the Statistic Unit of the Ministry of Planning with technical assistance so that they can produce reliable statistical data for the Royal Government of Cambodia.

As posted by NIS Cambodia, Cambodia was thankful for all the support both technical and financial that have been given by the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida) and Swedish Statistics and hoped that Sweden would continue to provide technical and financial assistance to the National Institute of Statistics to obtain new knowledge of statistics more in the future.
