Swedish tourist dies in motorcycle crash

A Swedish man was killed after he crashed his motorbike on a curve on his way to the beach in Thalang, Phuket in the morning of 22 January 2014, according to local police.

Pol Lt Thanom Thongpan said the man, identified by his Swedish friend, who witnessed the accident, as Mikael Nilsson, 51, died instantly when he fell off his motorcycle and hit metal guard railing.

The police officer said no helmet was found at the scene of the accident and that the only visible wound on Nilsson’s body was a bruise on his neck.

His body was sent to Thalang Hospital for autopsy, said Thanom.
