Taiwanese industrial technology company Advantech has opened a new Nordic office in Stockholm, strengthening its presence in the Nordic market as demand for edge computing and artificial intelligence technologies grows.
The office was officially opened on September 10, with Advantech President Miller Chang joined by Taiwan’s representative to Sweden, Ambassador Phoebe Yeh, and Anders Ahnlid, Director-General of the Swedish National Board of Trade.
Advantech, a global provider of industrial computing and IoT solutions, said the new office will help strengthen partnerships with customers and businesses across the Nordic region. Around 60 customers and partners attended the opening and a subsequent Solution Day, according to Advantech Europe.
The company’s business in Sweden has grown significantly in recent years, with sales increasing from around US$10 million to US$45 million, according to the Taiwanese mission in Sweden.
At the opening, Ambassador Yeh highlighted the complementary strengths of Taiwan and Sweden, pointing to Taiwan’s position in semiconductors and ICT and Sweden’s industrial and engineering expertise and strong innovation environment.
Advantech focuses on technologies including edge computing, Edge AI, industrial automation and intelligent transportation. The company is currently showcasing AI and edge-computing solutions for sectors including transportation and infrastructure in Europe.
The Stockholm office is expected to serve as a base for Advantech’s continued expansion across the Nordic region.
