Swedish and Philippine business representatives have met in Manila to explore new opportunities for trade, investment and cooperation between the two countries.
The networking event was organised by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and Team Sweden at the residence of Swedish Ambassador Anna Ferry.
In her opening remarks, Ferry highlighted Sweden’s strong innovation and start-up sectors and pointed to opportunities for Philippine businesses to work with Swedish companies.
Areas identified for closer cooperation included sustainable mining, advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, clean energy, pharmaceuticals and life sciences, connectivity, digitalisation and transportation.
PCCI President Ferdinand Ferrer presented the chamber’s international affairs priorities, including trade and investment promotion, international partnerships and the exchange of talent and innovation. He also highlighted potential cooperation with Swedish counterparts in clean technology, ICT, creative industries, advanced manufacturing and automation.
The meeting comes as Sweden and the Philippines look to deepen economic ties, with both sides emphasising the potential for business partnerships and knowledge exchange.
No specific commercial agreements were announced as part of the event.
