An expert forum focusing on innovation and diagnostics-pathway to improve dengue patient management in Thailand was held on 28 November in Bangkok.
The event was a cooperation between BluSense Diagnotics ApS, an innovative Point-of-Care diagnostics company in Denmark, its business partner in Thailand, General Science Enterprise Co. Ltd., and the Danish Embassy in Bangkok.
The expert forum comprised government officials from Ministry of Public Health in Thailand, physicians and infectious and vector borne disease experts, according to the Embassy of Denmark in Bangkok.
The evening consisted of reviewing recent developments in solutions that improve the early diagnosis of dengue infection and discussions of the potential impact and benefits these solutions could bring to dengue patient management in Thailand.
According to the Ministry of Public Health in Thailand, 61,917 people have fallen ill because of the dengue virus since the beginning of the year till September 2018, with 80 of them having died as a result.
