The next Danish ambassador to China is revealed

Earlier than expected the Danish Foreign Ministry has been able to reveal the ambassador rotation for 2015. While the present Danish Ambassador to China Friis Arne Petersen will move from Beijing go to Berlin, the Danish ambassador to Japan, Carsten Damsgaard will take over his job in the Chinese capital.

58 year old Carsten Damsgaard has worked with the Danish Foreign ministry since 1981 and apart from being the Danish Ambassador to Japan, Israel, Afganistan and Pakistan he served as the Political Director in the Foreign Ministry. He studied in New York in Paris, and graduated as a cand.scient.pol. at Aarhus University in Denmark same year he started working in the foreign ministry.

Carsten Damsgaard is married to Dr. Esben Karmark who is a lecturer at the Intercultural Communication and Management department of Copenhagen Business School.
