“The war on doping” won the price for best documentary film in the category sports and society at the “Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs (FICTS) World Sports Film Festival 2012” in Beijing on November 17.
The film documents the fight against the use of doping in sport from the 1970s to the present day with the Swedish expert on doping, Professor Arne Ljungqvist, as an International front figure. Producer Björn Bertoft received the award in Beijing
Sweden was early to adopt legislation against doping and was the first country to sign the UNESCO convention against doping within sport in 2005. The convention was ratified in 2007 and has since been signed by 170 countries.
