Value-creating evening, high-level Panel Debates: Danish Embassy Bangkok

It has been an exciting and eventful year at the Danish Embassy in Bangkok marking the 160 years anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Denmark. Yesterday, Tuesday 11 December 2018, it all culminated when they held a large-scale event with 200 guests counting Thai and Danish Business Executives from well-established companies, visionary young SMEs and start-ups, national and international organisations, authorities, universities and media. The evening was dedicated to three high-level Panel Debates on Thai-Danish business opportunities focusing on sustainability, tech and commercial cooperation – all drawing on the rich common history and experience between the two countries while looking towards emerging challenges and opportunities. Guest also had time to do some networking and engage with the Value Market Place, where sponsor companies displayed their company core values, CSR politics and Danish-Thai connection.

The evening was moderated by the highly respected and experienced journalist and co-founder of The Nation, Khun Suthichai Yoon, while the young, talented musicians from Vie Trio lifted the atmosphere in the run-up to the official programme.

“There is a rich and fruitful commercial relationship between our two countries – not only in trade and tourism, but also with regards to investment. More than a hundred Danish companies are present here and have created tens of thousands of jobs in the country and Thai companies have made major investments in Denmark. We will strive to maintain and strengthen this close relationship even further for the mutual benefits, and we see great potential for creating a platform for future cooperation within innovation, digital solutions and education. That is exactly the purpose behind today’s event”, Ambassador Uffe Wolffhechel said.

The Thai Vice Minister for Digital Economy and Society, Pansak Siriruchatapong, also attended and kick-started the event with a keynote speech.

The purpose of the evening was to inspire the guests to explore the potential for additional bilateral knowledge sharing, trade and investment between the two countries.

The evening was sponsored by ECCO, ISS, Indorama Ventures, Pandora, Novo Nordisk and CENTRAL Group.
