The Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam, in partnership with Net Zero Vietnam Joint Stock Company, hosted a public talk on Thursday 17 October 2025 titled “The Future of Fashion – A Conversation on Sustainability.”
The event brought together Vietnamese and Danish representatives from the fashion, design, education, and sustainability sectors to exchange views on how creativity, cultural heritage, and social responsibility can shape a more ethical and climate-conscious fashion industry.
Mette Ekeroth, Deputy Ambassador of Denmark to Vietnam, emphasised the importance of cultural dialogue in advancing sustainable development.
“Although Denmark and Vietnam are far apart geographically, we share strong mutual interests in sustainability and innovation,” she said.
Ekeroth noted that both countries’ fashion industries are increasingly interconnected through global value chains and consumer trends.
“Fashion is not only a way to express personal and cultural identity but also a sector that can drive positive change through responsible production and consumption,” she added.
Participants discussed how Vietnam’s fashion industry can expand globally through sustainable development, the importance of preserving cultural identity in design, and opportunities for mutual learning between Vietnam and Denmark in tackling shared environmental challenges.
The talk was part of a broader initiative by the Danish Embassy to promote sustainable development through cultural exchange and to strengthen bilateral cooperation under the Green Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
