Vietnamese author Nguyễn Nhật Ánh will visit Stockholm later this month as his work is published in Swedish for the first time.
The author will be the guest of honour at the literary festival Sagor från Vietnam, taking place at several venues across Stockholm from 28 to 30 August 2026.
The festival will begin with the launch of Två katter i fönstret, the first of Nguyễn Nhật Ánh’s books to be published in Swedish. The book has been translated by Hiền Ekeroth and is being released by Swedish publisher Bokförlaget Barnens Val.
Nguyễn Nhật Ánh is among Vietnam’s most widely read authors and is particularly known for stories about childhood, friendship and first love. He has written more than 100 books, several of which have been adapted for film and television.
During his Stockholm visit, he will participate in author talks, book signings and readings in Vietnamese and Swedish. The programme begins at Folkuniversitetet on 28 August and continues at Tranströmerbiblioteket and other venues during the weekend.
The Swedish edition marks the first time his work has been made available to readers in the Swedish language.
