Yinson partners with Norway’s Carbon Circle on CO₂ capture in Europe

Malaysia’s Yinson Production, a division of Yinson Holdings Bhd, has signed a cooperation agreement with Norway’s Carbon Circle AS to jointly develop Carbon Capture as a Service (CCaaS) for industrial emitters in Europe.

The agreement aims to offer companies a practical solution to reduce emissions by capturing CO₂ from chemical and combustion processes, transporting it, and permanently storing it in geological formations.

According to Yinson Production’s Chief Technology Officer, Lars Gunnar Vogt, the partnership aligns with the company’s ambition to play a bigger role in the carbon capture and storage (CCS) value chain.

“This collaboration is a strong fit with our efforts to make CO₂ reduction more realistic and impactful,” he said.

Carbon Circle’s Chief Executive Officer, Geir Otto Amundsen, also welcomed the partnership.

“Yinson is a natural partner for us. This agreement is a key step that paves the way for future collaboration and results,” he noted.

The new venture builds on Yinson’s earlier experience with the world’s first offshore post-combustion carbon capture unit, installed on the company’s FPSO Agogo off Angola.
