Ulrich Sorensen Development Counselor and Bo B. Rasmussen Commercial Counselor of the Danish Embassy in Bangkok participated in the launch of UN’s Global Compact conference in Yangoon, Burma on Tuesday 1 May.
The purpose of the conference was to put focus on how to conduct business in a responsible manner. The opening remarks were given by UN Secretary General H. E. Ban Ki Moon, who underlined the importance of incorporating private industry in a responsible and sustainable development of Burma. 15 companies from Burma signed up and promised to follow Global Compact.
According to the Danish Embassy, the Embassy in Bangkok is ready to advice Danish Companies with an interest in Burma.
