Danish Embassy Participated in Malaysian Fundraising Dinner

Embassy of Denmark representative Helle Sejersen Myrthue, Uhrenholt group CEO Sune Uhrenholt, and Uhrenholt country manager for Malaysia and Singapore Lars Kruse Thomsen participated in the Uhrenholt Young Chefs Fundraising Dinner, held at the Berjaya UCH Manhattan V Function Room in Kuala Lumpur last evening.

“I am overwhelmed to see so many supporters. This fundraising programme is amazing as we are able to tantalise our taste buds with the fantastic dishes cooked by our future chefs, the students,” said Uhrenholt.
Organised by the Chefs Association of Malaysia (CAM) Youth Chefs Club and Berjaya University College of Hospitality (Berjaya UCH), Uhrenholt Young Chefs Fundraising Dinner aims to raise more funds for the Youth Chefs Club’s future educational activities.

At the dinner, a total of 43 students from different hospitality universities and colleges namely Berjaya UCH, Legend International College, INTI, Malaysia Institute of Baking, KL Metropolitan University and Cilantro Culinary Academy worked with seven executive chefs from 5-star hotels around KL to create an Asian style 5-course menu based on seafood and cheese for 180 guests.

“The sessions enabled us to interact with the executive sous chefs and gain hands-on experience. It also provided a unique working experience with other students who come from different colleges and with whom we managed to forge new friendships. At the end of the training, we realised that teamwork is of great importance to become successful,” said Matthew Lee, a Berjaya UCH student who is currently pursuing a diploma in Culinary Arts.
