Open Day Event Visited by 2000 Guests

In the EU-China Year of Intercultural Dialogue all EU Embassies in China will organize an open day event to celebrate cultural cooperation between Europe and China. Due to the Presidency the Danish Open Day will be the biggest of all of these events.

Chinese visitors were presented to a variety of Danish culture including the photo exhibition ‘Monumental Motion – A Cycling Life in the Capital of Denmark’ and guided tours of the Ambassador’s residence displaying quality furniture, design and art.

During the day the Sino-Danish Network held a Q&A-session where visitors asked questions about career and study opportunities in Denmark.

“I am glad that so many people show an interest in visiting the Embassy. It is a rare occasion for us to show the Chinese public our Embassy, which is a small piece of Denmark here in China,” said Danish Ambassador, Friis Arne Petersen.

1500 Chinese bloggers

More than 4000 people were registered for the Open Day event on the Embassy’s micro blog on Sina.com and of those, 1500 people were selected to attend. An additional 500 invited guests also attended the Open Day.

Thirteen Danish companies operating on the Chinese market were part of the event showcasing their products and services with a fashion show by the famous Danish clothing brand ONLY as one of the highlights of the day.
