Four people have been killed and at least 11 injured after fire in Tiger nightclub in Phuket.
“The four killed by the fire are believed to be tourist, but it is not confirmed,” Phuket deputy governor Chamroen Tipayapongtada told AFP by telephone. He also told that the fire was caused by ligtning which struck a transformer.
The Tiger nightclub is a popular venue among Scandinavian tourists in Phuket, but it is not known yet, if there are Scandinavians among of the four killed and at least 11 injured.
The fire broke out 3:55 am Friday. Two hours after all venues in the area are supposed to close, writes PhuketWan. Why the tourist stayed in the nightclub hours after closing time are not known.
Tiger Nightclub is in an area very popular among young tourists.
