Kongero to Perform at A Cappella Festival

The A Cappella Festival in Singapore is back, this time around featuring even more stellar a cappella groups from around the world from 5 October until 31 October 2012 at the Fort Canning Centre.

With this, the A Cappella Society celebrates five years of excellent programming with first class vocal music from Singapore and around the world.

In 2012, the festival’s featured local groups will play host to some of the best a cappella groups from the Philippines and Europe (Switzerland, Denmark, Germany, Portugal) including the Swedish all-girl power harmony, Kongero.

With their tight harmonies, inciting rhythms and the clarity of their beautiful voices, along with their confidence, technical skills, irresistible playfulness and brilliant arrangements, the group creates a unique sound that draws traditional Swedish music out from the past into the present.

Music journalist Jeff Meshel calls Kongero “A revelation”.

“The beauty of the four voices is equaled only by the pristine, flawless arrangements. They provide a stunning example of a marriage between the traditional and the innovative. This magical Swedish music very much deserves to be heard far and wide,” he stated.

Everybody is welcome to watch the A Cappella Festival unfold  with a surely brilliant Kongero closing at 7.30pm on 31 October at the Fort Canning Centre, Blackbox Theatre.
