Danish Embassy participates in charity bazaar in Beijing

On 15 September 2012, staff of Danish Embassy in Beijing participated in the charity bazaar “Love Knows No Borders”. Initiated by Madame Le Aimei, the wife of Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yang Jiechi, this year the bazaar raised money for cataract operations.

Held in Chaoyang Park in Beijing, 77 different embassies participated in the event. The bazar raised money for the Lifeline Express Bright Journey in order for them to perform free surgeries for cataract patients in poor areas in Xinxiang, Henan Province. The Danish stand sold items that was donated from Danish companies as Lego, Bestseller, House of Amber, Pilgrim, Copenhagen Fur and Louis Nielsen, and raised about 11.700 RMB for the course.

Love Knows No Borders has been held each year since 2009. Last year the bazaar raised 3 million RMB to improve basic infrastructure facilities in poor mountain villages in the Yunnan Province.
