Swedish ‘Strinberg’s World’ at Beijing Fringe Festival

From today until 19 September, Swedish theatre company Strindbergs Intima Teater is presenting their “Strinberg’s World” play at the Beijing Fringe Festival.

Strindberg’s World is a tribute to the famous Swedish author August Strindberg. The play is about Strindberg but also shows scenes from some of his most famous plays. As part of the festival, the play will be performed in Swedish with Chinese subtitles at Fengchao Theatre.

Established in 2008, Beijing Fringe Festival (BJFF) is an annual theatre festival. This year Swedish dramaturge in chief Mr. Magnus Florin from the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm will come to Beijing and participate in the Festival. He will give a lecture called “Strindberg on stage now at Dramaten” at Penghao Theatre on Friday September 21.

He will also take part in a panel discussion on a dance performance based on Strindberg’s To Damascus together with young Chinese director Dou Hui at art gallery UCCA in 798 Arts District.
