Volvo S80 Success in Malaysia

Volvo Car Malaysia Sdn Bhd is expecting the newly-launched Volvo S80 executive vehicle to see a repeat in popularity as that of the original S80 model introduced locally in the year 2000.
Volvo Malaysia marketing and public relations director (Malaysia and Asian hub) Felicita Lee said, the new S80 launched in Kuala Lumpur the fourth week of August 2007, had been vastly improved over the older model.
“The enhancements in safety and luxurious features make the S80 a very attractive choice for those wanting a premium vehicle,” she told reporters at the S80’s test drive for regional media here on Wednesday.
The new S80 is the second generation of Volvo’s large prestige sedan, launched at the Geneva motor show in the year 2006.
The new S80 comes with a six-speed automatic transmission, six airbags, traction control, bi-xenon headlights and choices of a 3.2-litre or a turbo-charged 2.5-litre engine.
The RM398,000 3.2-litre variant is fully imported from Sweden, while the locally assembled 2.5T is priced at RM268,500.
