New Danish Ambassador in Mongolia

On the 29th of September 2010, the newly appointed Danish Ambassador to China and Mongolia handed his credentials over to President of Mongolia.


At a formal ceremony on Wednesday 29th of September 2010 at the Government Palace in Ulaan Baatar Ambassador Friis Arne Petersen handed his accreditation letter to President Ts. Elbegdorj.


Prior to the presentation of credentials the honorary guard greeted the Ambassador on Sukhbaatar square in front of the Government Palace and played the two countries’ national anthems.


In connection with the ceremony the Ambassador had a good conversation with Ts. Elbegdorj, where the Danish cooperation with Mongolia and the political and economic situation in the country were discussed. The Ambassador also met with Mongolian Foreign Minister G. Zandanshatar.


The ceremony marks that Friis Arne Petersen now has formally joined as Denmark’s ambassador to Mongolia. Friis Arne Petersen is the newly appointed ambassador to China and Mongolia and has previously been Denmark’s ambassador in Washington.


Mongolia’s president, Ts. Elbegdorj, paid an official visit to Denmark from 7th – 9th of October 2010, where he met with Her Royal Highness the Queen and the Prime Minister.
