King Harald plans state visit to Vietnam and Singapore

A state visit by Norway’s King Harald to Vietnam and Singapore is in the making.
Scandasia has learned from several sources that during the recent visit by Norway’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Ansgar Gabrielsen, to Singapore between 24 and 28 January 2004 talks about the royal visit were held.
The visit is scheduled for late October and early November 2004. In Vietnam the King will pay official visits to the cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Min where seminars and state meetings are planned. Several Norwegian companies already plan to participate in the business delegation and activities surrounding the visit.
Meanwhile, a visit by Crown Prince Haakon to Thailand is likewise being planned.
The Royal House has not yet officially confirmed any of the two visits. Public relations manager Wenche Rasch of the Norwegian Royal House does not wish to comment on the trip either.
“No, I can’t comment on an official state visit that hasn’t been announced yet, you will have to wait,” Wenche Rasch told ScandAsia.
The previous Royal Norwegian visit to Southeast Asia took place in December 1999, when HRH Princess Märtha Louise visited Thailand and Vietnam.
