BI and FTU Start new EMBA

BI Norwegian School of Management and Foreign Trade University in Vietnam recently opened their new Executive Master of Business and Administration in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The new Executive Master of Business and Administration (EMBA) was opened at the campus of Foreign Trade University (FTU) in Hanoi 8 October 2010. BI and FTU have cooperated closely to establish this EMBA. They are now pleased to offer a part-time programme which will meet the needs of managers from companies operating in Vietnam who want to combine business education with full-time work. The programme runs in two parallel departments, one in Hanoi and one in Ho Chi Minh City. International business, shipping business, logistics and supply chain management will be important areas the students will engage in.

President of Foreign Trade University, Professor Dr. Hang Vau Chau welcomed the new students at the opening event and declared the EMBA for open. Following his remarks, Deputy Head of Mission Ann-Helen Azedo greeted the students from the Norwegian Embassy in Hanoi: “You have made a wise choice. Vietnam is facing a riveting economic development. To live up to this and make it sustainable, there is great need for well-educated people. To study for an MBA along with your daily workload is a tough challenge, but I am sure it also will be a very rewarding time for you.”

Professor Erling S. Andersen from BI also congratulated the students and advised them to: “Grab the opportunity, concentrate fully on the studies, and enjoy the time with fellow-students.”

Innovation Norway and the Embassy have supported the initiative from the beginning, and are glad to see that BI and FTU have established a full class of 37 students who have already begun lectures at FTU.
