The Swedish Minister for Health and Social Affairs, Göran Hägglund and a bu business delegation brigs “Health for the Future” to Indonesia 5-7 April 2011.
Minister Hägglund will be accompanied by around 15 Swedish health care companies during his official visit to Jakarta, Indonesia. The three day visit is co-organized by the Embassy of Sweden and the Swedish Trade Council in Jakarta.
During the visit, Minister Hägglund will meet his Indonesian counterpart, H.E. Dr. Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih, with whom he will present and open a seminar on “Health for the Future – A Knowledge-sharing Seminar between Indonesia and Sweden”.
The bilateral meeting between the two ministers will focus on areas of mutual interest and look into the possibilities for further cooperation and exchange in key areas of health care for the future.
“We have seen a strong tendence of a steadily growing interest from the Swedish government’s side for Indonesia during the last years”, says HE Mrs Ewa Polano, Sweden’s Ambassador to Indonesia.
“The dynamic development during the last years in both democracy and economic growth have lately led to an increased number of visitors from Sweden to Indonesia, and now we have had already two Ministers from the Swedish Government during the first months of 2011, all keen to discover more about the quick pace of this development,” Ambassador Polano continues.
Sweden is a leading country for health care research and development. With a very developed health care sector Sweden has a lot to offer and especially now since Indonesia has set out to develop the health care sector it is a great time for Swedish and Indonesian health care representatives to meet and look into closer cooperation and the potential mutual gains.
The upcoming visit by Minister for Health and Social Affairs HE Hägglund 5-7 April 2011, is a testament to this increased Swedish interest in developing closer cooperation between our countries. The Minister will be heading a delegation of Swedish businesses within the health care sector providing expert knowledge, technology and products to improve health care for both public and private health providers.
