On 25 April 2011, the Swedish exchange students at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) organized Sweden Day, the annual Sweden Day attracted a couple of hundred of students interested to find out more about Sweden.
With Easter around the corner, this year’s Sweden Day focused on Swedish Easter celebration. The event allowed students to learn how to paint Easter eggs, greeting cards and of course sample several iconic Swedish dishes including meatballs. Swedish “Kanelbullar” (Cinnamon Rolls) were also served.
The Embassy’s intern participated and answered questions about education and living in Sweden.
Sweden is the most popular destination for Singaporean exchange students wanting to study in the EU, apart from the UK. Last year, some 300 students studied in Sweden. There are about the same number of Swedish exchange students in Singapore.
