The Danish Ambassador, Mikael Hemniti Winther led a convoy of big motorcycles to support the launching of the UN initiative of ‘Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020’, including the wearing of helmets when riding motorbike.
The event was chaired by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and the President of National Prevention and Road Accident Reduction Policy Committee. The convoy of more than 140 motorbikes marking the beginning of the campaign on Wednesday 11 May 2011 and started at the centre of Bangkok went and along roads to a national TV station. The interest from the local Thai press in this part of the launching was substantial.
