Geely not interested in Saab

Saab Automobile’s Chinese partner, Youngman, who promised to pay SEK 640 million, may be about to withdraw from the deal.

But there has been roumours in Swedish media that the Chinese owner of Volvo, Geely, is showing interest for the troubled car brand.

The daily Dagens Nyheter earlier today wrote that Geely has initiated talks with Saab’s administrator in China. But this information is rejected by Geely.

“We have no interest in acquiring Saab Automobile,”  Lawrence Ang, Geely’s director in Hong Kong, told the Dow Jones Newswires.

Yesterday, Saab Automobile announced that the payment from Youngman was delayed and that it is not known when they will get it.
