Bente Sustmann passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025, at the age of 64 after a prolonged battle with cancer. Her funeral took place on January 13 at Strøby Church, where a filled congregation paid their respects, underscoring the deep impact she had on so many lives.
Bente’s journey took her and her family across the globe, spending 20 years abroad, including a memorable five years in Bangkok from 2004 to 2009. During this time, she became an integral part of the local Scandinavian community, contributing to various causes and organizations. Following the devastating tsunami, she played an active role in the Danish embassy’s relief efforts. She was also a active in the Scandinavian Siam Society, serving as its Chairman for a year.
Bente is survived by her husband, Kim-Regin Sustmann, their two children, and three grandchildren.
