CCCL Film Grant Program has opened for submissions

CCCL Film Festival offers film production grants to emerging Thai fiction and non-fiction filmmakers. The theme for the 2021 CCCL Film Festival is “Making Peace with Nature.”

The program aims to identify and nurture new talent who present exciting ideas and compelling stories in a short fiction or non-fiction film about climate change impacts, adaptation, mitigation, and sustainability.

Filmmakers who apply for a grant in the CCCL Film Grant Program will be able to choose if they want mentorship. Selected participants (up to 10 projects) will be matched with film professionals (mentors) and receive financial support. The mentors will help participants develop the story and give advice on a monthly basis. Mentorship Program is a script-to-screen program that focuses on young filmmakers (school and university age) and non-professional filmmakers.

The theme was inspired by the speech delivered by the UN Secretary-General António Guterres at Columbia University in New York on Dec 2, 2020. Guterres pointed out that “humanity is waging war on nature.” Therefore, he said that “making peace with nature is the defining task of the 21st century. It must be the top, top priority for everyone, everywhere.”
Each selected project (up to 20 projects) will receive a production grant of THB 25,000. The film produced should be no longer than 15 minutes in length.

Don’t miss your chance. Submit your ideas by 30 April 2021, at 11:59 pm.
The selected projects will be announced on May 17, 2021.
