Danish celebrity hairstylist plans to move to Thailand with his children

Celebrity hairstylist Dennis Knudsen is making exciting plans for the future. Recently, he listed his spacious villa in Korsør for sale and revealed that he intends to spend several months each year living in Thailand.

In an interview with Billed-Bladet and Se og Hør, Knudsen shared his intentions to relocate to Koh Samui. He recalls visiting the island 30 years ago, saying, “I remember it was fantastic.” He expressed enthusiasm about returning to the destination after many years.

Knudsen has three young children: sons Lucas and Noah, ages five and three, and two-year-old daughter Aura. They are the focus of his planned move to Thailand. The children were born via an American surrogate and hold dual nationality, which has prompted Knudsen to explore international schooling options. He believes attending such institutions will help them learn English.

While he has previously traveled with his children to Phuket, Knudsen chose Koh Samui for several reasons. “First of all, the Phuket area is much more expensive than other parts of Thailand. I thought it would be exciting to try Koh Samui,” he explained during a phone call with B.T. on Wednesday evening.

Knudsen plans to travel to Thailand on Thursday to scout the area. He will look for schools, kindergartens, and nurseries suitable for his children. Currently, he has not decided whether to buy a home there. “Yes, I could consider purchasing something, but I might start by renting for the first three months. It’s a good way to see if I find it exciting and enjoyable,” he said.

He also discussed the reasoning behind selling his villa, noting that he wants to have more funds for traveling. “I think I can do without the cold, dark months,” he added. Although he is not planning to take other adults with him to Thailand, he hopes to build a network in the area. “I also hope that family and friends will come and visit us,” he said.

Despite putting his home in Korsør up for sale, Knudsen made it clear that relocating entirely is not set in stone. “If the house does not sell, we will continue living here. If it sells, we might stay in Korsør but find something smaller. I haven’t fully decided on that yet,” he explained, sharing his fondness for Korsør.

“I am happy in Korsør, and I will also keep my hair salon here. The network I have and my children’s well-being are just super good,” Knudsen concluded.
