On November 2, 2024, authorities arrested a 31-year-old Danish man, Mr. Asger Ploug Emborg, in Koh Samui for allegedly threatening local residents with firearms. This arrest followed multiple reports of intimidation and harassment, prompting a swift response from police.

The first report came from a Myanmar worker who claimed that Mr. Emborg threatened his life. Shortly after, two Thai women also stepped forward. They stated that he displayed a BB gun and a machete, throwing objects at their car while shouting for them to leave. The situation escalated when Mr. Emborg allegedly followed one of the victims in his vehicle, overtaking her and aiming a BB gun out the window.

BB guns are airsoft guns (or pellet guns) designed to shoot projectiles. These non-powder guns can become dangerous weapons if misused. The name “BB” refers to the ball bearing or “bullet ball.” A bullet ball is a round pellet roughly the size of a single lead shot in a shotgun shell.

In addition to these incidents, the manager of a hotel in Maret reported further disturbances caused by Mr. Emborg. Hotel staff noticed that he was throwing objects at other guests and brandishing a BB gun on the premises.

When police arrived, they found Mr. Emborg intoxicated. Officers conducted a search of his room and vehicle, uncovering a concerning array of weapons. This included one long-barrel BB gun, two BB handguns, a samurai sword, a hatchet, six small knives, plastic BB pellets, and four gas canisters. Police confiscated all items as evidence.

Police Colonel Den Duang Thongsrisuk from Bo Phut Police Station confirmed that Mr. Emborg faces charges for public disturbance. In addition, authorities plan to conduct psychiatric evaluations and substance abuse tests as part of their investigation.

If a thief breaks into my house, I will shoot him with a real gun, not a toy gun!!! He doesn’t drink alcohol or use cocaine. He uses marijuana to heal and relieve stress. He doesn’t bother anyone unless someone tries to hurt him.

Well, that comes from all the alcohol and cocaine. But it was foreseeable for a long time that Asger would go crazy. Watch out for this guy, he’s mentally unstable and will soon hurt someone. He constantly thinks he’s God and that everyone is following him. He urgently needs psychiatric treatment. Take care of him soon!
