
Denmark’s Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen is visiting the Philippines today on December 9 and until December 10, marking the first official visit by a Danish foreign minister to Manila in 25 years. Afterward, he will visit Malaysia.
Welcomed at the airport by Denmark’s Ambassador to the Philippines, Franz-Michael Mellbin, Løkke will meet with Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo to strengthen ties and explore new areas of cooperation between the two countries.
Talks will focus on trade, maritime cooperation, green shipping, renewable energy, health, and financial partnerships. The ministers will also discuss regional and global issues, emphasizing their shared commitment to peace, stability, and a rules-based international order.
The visit highlights 78 years of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Denmark and aims to build stronger partnerships in forward-looking sectors.
After his visit in the Philippines, the Foreign Minister will visit Malaysia as well.
