
The Danish Embassy in China has welcomed Sonja Canger as its new Minister Counsellor for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries.
Canger brings experience in leadership, policy development and regulatory affairs within agriculture and environmental issues. She holds a master’s degree in Forestry and Natural Resources Management from the University of Copenhagen.
In her new role, Canger will work with the Food, Agriculture and Fisheries team across the Danish representations in China, as well as with Danish and Chinese stakeholders.
She said she looks forward to supporting Danish exports to the Chinese market and strengthening cooperation between Denmark and China in food, agriculture and fisheries.
The appointment comes as Denmark continues to promote cooperation with China in sectors including food production, agriculture and fisheries.
Canger also brings a broad network of contacts among authorities, businesses and organisations, according to the Danish Embassy.
Her role will focus on supporting Danish interests in the Chinese market and further developing cooperation between Danish and Chinese partners in the food and agriculture sectors.
