Karine Erikstein has joined the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Singapore as its new Deputy Head of Mission.
Erikstein is a career diplomat with 12 years of experience in Norway’s Foreign Service. She most recently served as Senior Adviser in the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Section for Trade Policy and Economic Analysis in Oslo.
Her previous diplomatic postings include Geneva and Pretoria. Before joining the Foreign Service, she worked for the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, focusing on ocean and fisheries law.
Erikstein holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Oslo and an LLM in European Law from the College of Europe in Bruges.
The posting marks her first time living and working in Asia. She said she looks forward to exploring how major foreign-policy issues affect Singapore and the wider region.
