Sweden’s telecom giant Ericsson has entered Vietnam’s airport sector through a new partnership with state-owned operator VNPT, according to a press release by Ericsson.
The collaboration will deliver next-generation mobile infrastructure to major airport projects across the country, aiming to modernise connectivity for both operations and passengers.
Under the agreement, VNPT will deploy Ericsson’s latest radio and RAN technologies to improve network capacity in dense indoor environments such as airport terminals. The upgrade is expected to support more efficient passenger processing, baggage handling and overall airport operations.
The move marks a new step in Ericsson’s expansion in Vietnam, where demand for digital infrastructure is growing alongside rising air travel and economic development.
Vietnam’s airport upgrades come as countries across Southeast Asia invest in smarter, more connected transport hubs, creating opportunities for international technology providers — including Nordic companies — to strengthen their regional presence.
